Last Saturday my assistant Jason and I made the trip down to Chesterton, Indiana to photograph Holly and Josh’s wedding day. My entire family is from NW Indiana so, I’ve spent a lot of time over the years in towns all around this area and really had no idea how beautiful the Indiana Dunes are. Holly took the time to find some great locations around Lake Michigan and in Valparaiso for post wedding pics . Even though it turned out to be a scorcher of a day, we had a great time at the beach (I wish I could have jumped in the lake!) and we hit an ice cream parlor to cool off in downtown Valpo. Everyone was so much fun, I would have photographed this group all day if we hadn’t had a reception to get to.
Annette & Michael were married just this past weekend at St. Joseph’s Church in Chicago and had their awesome reception at The Peninsula hotel. The weather was perfect and Annette, Michael and their entire wedding party couldn’t have been more fun. After the ceremony we had a trolley take us out to Adler Planetarium and then made a stop along Michigan Avenue before heading back to the reception. Along the way we stopped by the groom’s restaurant, Zealous, made a run into a liquor store for more champagne and cheese and met some great members of the United States Navy. Heather Moore (we love Heather) kept us on time all day with her well planned schedule and amazing flowers by Ronsley set the mood at the reception. We partied and took photos into the wee hours even attending the after party at the invitation of the bride and groom. The couple used the theme song from “The Greatest American Hero” television show for their first dance, so I thought it would be perfect for their slide show, check it out.
